A Few Helpful Tips for Zoom Worship

  • Prepare as you would for in-person worship. Set aside a quiet, sacred space in your home, say a brief prayer, or take a moment to reflect before the service begins.

  • Join early to check your setup. Logging in a few minutes ahead ensures everything is working smoothly. If you need help, reach out to our e-vergers in the Zoom chat.

  • Mute your microphone when not speaking. This helps minimize background noise and ensures a smooth experience for everyone.

  • Turn on your video if possible. Seeing each other helps us feel connected, even across the distance.

  • Be mindful of your background. Choose a quiet, distraction-free space if possible.

  • Expect occasional delays. Zoom has natural sound delays, especially with large groups. During long prayers, a few volunteers will remain unmuted to help carry the ‘chorus’ of prayers.

  • If you have technical issues, watch the livestream. You can always join us on YouTube at Memorial Episcopal Church of Baltimore - YouTube.

Most Importantly—Be Present and Enjoy Worship!

This may not be exactly like gathering in person, but we are still a community of faith, worshiping together in hope and expectation of resurrection. Thank you for being part of our online worship!

Peace & Justice

For decades, Memorial Episcopal Church has hosted a Tuesday morning Peace and Justice worship service, rooted in a commitment to justice, advocacy, and spiritual reflection. This tradition began during the Vietnam War when Memorial supported conscientious objectors, war resisters, and counselors seeking a focused, intentional space for prayer and discernment.

Over the years, the service has evolved into a vital gathering for those engaged in justice work, serving as a place for reflection, solidarity, and action. Participants have been involved in significant social movements, including the abolition of the death penalty in Maryland and advocacy for human rights.

The service follows a simple liturgy of morning prayer, providing a sacred space to connect, pray, and discern how faith calls us to respond to the pressing issues of our time. Whether you are new to justice ministry or a longtime advocate, all are welcome to join this virtual gathering and be part of the ongoing conversation about faith and justice.
